Day 1: Arrival to Cancun You will be welcomed by your personal guide in Cancun. Because of the travelling, we will only give you a quick introduction about the program and other important stuff. Your guide that will be with you for this week is a professional guide, who knows everything about the wildlife, nature and culture in Mexico. Your guide will make sure you will have a safe and amazing experience. Overnight in Cancun. Day 2: Swim with Whale Sharks This day you will be spending your time swimming with the largest fish in the world, the whale shark. This fish is mostly around 20-40 feet large, but is completely harmless. This beautiful animal can be seen from mid-May until mid-September, to feed on plankton in the waters of Isla Holbox, Isla Contoy and Isla Mujeres. Day 3: Snorkeling with sea turtles Enjoy swimming with turtles in their natural habitat and snorkel in the second largest reef in the world. All this will take place in a natural protected area, Akumal, which is Mayan for ¨place of the Turtles¨. Akumal is a little beach community located 75 miles/120 km south of Cancun along Mexico’s Caribbean Coast. Akumal is the home to many animals like the marine turtles, but you can also spot some rays, cuttlefish, crabs and many colorful fish. After this beautiful experience, you will go visit a cenote (sinkhole), were you will have the possibility to swim in the beautiful clear waters. The rest of the afternoon you will be spending in Tulum. Overnight in Tulum. Day 4: Bird watching, jaguar camp & night hike Start the day with bird watching. After spotting all different sorts of birds, you continue to the jaguar camp, where you go on a search for the largest cat in the Americas: the jaguar. This tour takes you deep into the jungle, where you also can encounter other wildlife, such as deer, tapirs and other small mammals. After dinner, there will be an adventurous night hike, where you have the chance to see insects and small mammals. Overnight on camp. Day 5: Bird watching & Kantemo cave Go early bird watching in the Sian Ka´an reserve, were you also have the chance of seeing small mammals, followed up by a visit to the cave of Kantemo. In this cave, like nowhere else on earth, boa constrictors have adapted to hang from the ceiling and snatch bats as they take flight at dusk. Overnight in Tulum. Day 6: Chichen Itza This day will be more about culture, since we will visit the beautiful archeological site Chichen Itza. However we go early in the morning to spot birds. When visiting Mexico, this is one of the things you should not miss out on. Chichen Itza is announced as one of the Modern Seven Wonders of the World and is the most visited Mayan City of entire Mexico. So let your guide take you to this stunning site and have a once in a lifetime experience. Near Chichen Itza is also a cenote, where there is the possibility to take a nice swim in the clear fresh water. Overnight in Valladolid. Day 7: Rio Lagartos Today get ready to see some amazing wildlife in the Rio Lagartos biosphere reserve. This is the main natural habitat of many beautiful flamingos, birds, and crocodiles. To be more specific, there are 395 species of birds live and visit here. Also it is the breeding site for the Yucatan’s flock of 40,000 Flamingos. We have flamingos here all year! Moreover the coastline of the Bio Reserve is the third most important breeding site for sea turtles worldwide. Also there is a large salt-water lake, las colorados, where you can rejuvenate your skin with the salty water and mineral mud. Overnight in Valladolid. Day 8: Departure Ready for departure from Cancun Airport.
